Title: Outpatient TherapistReports To: Executive Clinical Director
Job Purpose: To provide intensive services to children and adolescents who are at risk due to stressing environmental factors that may increase their mental health or substance abuse challenges. Outpatient therapy addresses more specific needs of the individual and family. This service can be provided in the home or office setting. The outpatient therapist uses a variety of techniques to accomplish achieving the goals of the child and family.
Key Responsibilities:
-To deliver in-home/office services to children addressing needs that have been identified by the intake clinician and treatment team
-To provide therapeutic counseling, supportive and assistive services to families in order to maintain or re-unite children in their home and community
-To utilize therapeutic interventions to enhance family functioning and interactions
-To monitor medication as required
-To provide counseling for substance abuse, sexual abuse challenges and other needs as required
-To help the child to develop skills to better cope with his/her environment and challenges
-To work cooperatively with the child’s treatment team to assure quality services
-To continually assess family needs, service availability and appropriateness
-To participate in training as related to the therapist job position (family-centered approach, specific treatment modalities, documentation training, person-centered service plan development and implementation training, etc.)
-To provide appropriate documentation for service delivery and meeting Medicaid or other appropriate insurance standards for documentation
Requirements:
This position requires therapist to be available to provide in office/in-home service delivery. Therapist will be responsible for attending clinical supervision meetings monthly or an determined. Therapist is required to document all services rendered in accordance with Medicaid and PSG standards.
Qualifications:
-A Master’s degree in a human service field (especially Social Work, Counseling and
Psychology) License required and/or provisionally certified
-Prefer a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)
-Experience working with children in office or residential setting.
