Features & Description
Vintage Blue Spritzer Bottles from France - $95This is a rare Spritzer bottle, commonly called âSiphon bottlesâ in Europe. It is made of very thick and heavy beveled glass, with all the French writing on the bottle acid etched. This is an old bottle, possibly from the mid 1940âs, which originated from Faverges, a town and commune of the Haute-Savoie, in France. This area occupies the glacial valley which gave birth to Lake Annecy, where the crystal clear water was possibly used in these bottles.
Carbonated water in siphon bottles (Spitzer) was first introduced in France in 1845. These bottles were used in homes as well in bistros and restaurant. They are found in various forms: cylindrical, ovoid, pyramidal, framed octagonal, etc. The glass can be plain, twisted, beveled or beaded with honeycombs offered in various colors (clear, red, blue, green are common).
This bottle has no cracks, chips or repairs and has the original chrome dispenser (top/tap). This could be a great collectorâs item.
I have indicated the particulars and all the writing on the bottle and dispenser below.
