DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for performing a wide variety of planning, layout, set-up and other duties with all types of welding associated equipment to fabricate with precision, standard and specialized non-standard steel frames and vessels, etc., which become integral parts of completed Company products, under directions of supervisor and/or shop foreman. Interfaces with all levels and positions of the company.



RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works from schedule, complicated, specialized non-standard drawings, sketches, material control forms, identification parts lists, engineering change orders and other instructions from Lead Person, Foreman, Supervisor. Work with heliarc welders, MIG welders, electrode welders, plasma welders, cutting torch, magnetic drills, band saws, grinders and related machines; use templates, level, squares, overhead crane, C-clamps, bar clamps, measuring devices, pneumatic chipping hammers, hand trucks, dollies, welder’s goggles, protective clothing, various hand tools and related equipment / materials.
• Receive specialized drawings, sketches, material control forms, identifications parts lists, and engineering change orders from Supervisors, Foreman or Lead Person. Analyze material requirements, obtain and move from storage racks to work station. Plan, layout and perform fabrication of special non-standard and standard stainless steel frames, vessels, presses according to standard and special non-standard drawings. Set-up and operate all types of welding equipment for designates metals. Align, cope,, fit and clamp and weld all mating members, maintaining squareness, evenness at all times, within specified tolerances. Inspect welds continuously to ensure quality of weld; within necessary control adjustments. Turn or assist in turning, fabricated structure and weld under structure, as required. Load or assist in loading, fabricated product on dollies, trucks and moving to temporary storage area.
• Dress all welds, debur rough edges, as necessary, using appropriate equipment. Cooperate and interface with Supervisor, Lead Person, Engineers and Draftsperson on welding of specialized non-standard frames. Diagnose and provide recommendations for correction of drawing errors. Diagnose and provide recommendations and/or repair defective equipment.
• Move materials, as necessary, in performance of duties as directed. Detect and report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials and unusual conditions to proper Supervisor. Maintain work area and equipment in a clean, safe and order condition. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be over 18 years of age and have a valid driver’s license
• Reliable Transportation
• Piping experience and / or TIG welding or ARC Welding (GTAW) a plus
• Must be able to comply with and work in an FDA Regulated working environment.
